OK, I probably shouldn't have got this one but I did. I got him for £8.99 from my local Argos. A lot of things with this guy is quite similar to with my Hiro figure, so I'm not going to talk too much about some things. I don't have as many pictures of this one compared to the Hiro one, so expect more words than pics.
Can you see that? It's a new Baymax figure. Specifically the "Baymax 1.0" from the scene of the film where Hiro shouts "GUMMY BEARS!" (Sorry spoilers, but I figured everyone who wants to has seen the film by now, plus this proves to you guys that I know my stuff and I'm not just collecting Big Hero 6 toys for the sake of the fact that they are cute. No, I'm collecting the toys because this film is literally MLP level obsession for me, and when I get an obsession I need merchandise in any form possible.) This means that this particular Baymax figure is part of the "Second Wave".
Now we have 3 god damn Baymax variations, can we please get variations of the other characters? Yanno like them in their casual outfits?? And a Tadashi figure. Because imagination when it comes to play. Seriously I would buy all the characters again just to have their casual attire versions. Especially Fred.
Oh! By the way I was wrong about him not coming with an accessory, he comes with his attachable wings. They just slot right in there, but are a pain in the butt to remove. They pivot though, so you can have them down, for when not flying.
The first thing I did upon removing him from the box was compare sizes with Mr. Hamada. Scale is... Hit and miss.
The scale of these two make it easy for Hiro to be posed on Baymax like they are going for a flight. The space between Baymax's head and shoulders allows enough space to Hiro's arms to slot between, so he will just hang there. I don't know whether this was done on purpose, but if not it is a magnificent coincidence. Of course you have to bend Hiro's legs around Baymax's body a bit so he doesn't fall off, but hey it works!
What makes the scale miss is the fact that when Baymax is wearing his armour in the film, Hiro is so much shorter he has to use a step ladder to get up to reach his access port. In this scale Hiro can reach it no problem. I don't know, it kinda bothers me. Though if they made Hiro any shorter he would be absolutely tiny, and making Baymax any bigger would mess with the pricing and other things.
It is really hard to see in the pictures, and I kinda missed it on Hiro, but the red chest plate on Baymax is sort of pearlesent. Hiro's helmet and chest plate are also pearlesent. This figure sticks very true to the design of Super Baymax. Seriously, very nicely detailed figure with paint in all the right places. Even the joints are made to look similar to that of the film.
Speaking of joints, again like Hiro this guy is seriously articulated! Even the plates on his shoulders pivot! I'm not sure why though, but hey it happens. One thing I will note is that the knees on mine don't move, they look like they should though, so they might be stuck, I'm not sure though. If anyone else has one please tell me if his knees are supposed to bend. Another curious thing is that when I got mine out of the box, it's left elbow (actually it's right) joint wasn't working. It was almost like it was stuck... I did manage to get it to move in the end, but it's still very stiff. Speaking of being stiff, his head does pivot, but my god is it stiff and a pain to do so. Plus his head is also at a bit of an angle, like from the reveal scene of the film, but it's like stuck at that angle. You can't move it to be at a different angle like on the Hiro figure... Does this bother me? It probably shouldn't but it really does.
And another thing, this guy is a pain in the butt to get to stand up. His hip joints are extremely loose, meaning if you move them to make him stand up he just moves out of balance again and falls backwards. I think it's because of the heavy torso, because he really is quite a heavy figure. And I thought Hiro with his out of place bendy legs was a pain to get to stand up. Nope. For the picture where Hiro is on Baymax's back I had to lean the pair against the wall so they wouldn't fall. His legs don't even move forwards so I can't even make him sit for my display. I guess when I do get my display up I will have to be patient with getting him to stand.
And I think that is everything. Sorry for the lack of photos, but I left all my pieces other than the Lucky 4, MLP figures and cuddlies at my mom's house.
Fun Fact: I actually went out to buy jewellery with my Claire's voucher, and I came home with 3 sets of earrings and a Baymax figure. The life of a fangirl eh? x3
